If you don’t follow this update, your earnings will be affected. Starting January 16, 2024, Google will require all publishers serving ads to users in the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) to use Google’s approved consent management platform.

In simple terms, if someone from the EU or the UK visits your website, a message must pop up, giving them the option to agree or disagree with seeing personalized ads from your site.

If they disagree, it will impact your earnings. But before all of this, you need to have a GDPR message. This is why you need to create a GDPR message for all your websites approved for AdSense.

  • You need the privacy policy URL for your website. You should already have this to get AdSense approval.
  • You also need the logos of your websites in JPG or PNG format. Download these logos from your websites and keep them on your computer.
  • Then, click on “Create a GDPR message.” You’ll have to go through several steps and customize how the message will look.
  • You can select the websites that have AdSense approval. Give each site a name if you haven’t already.
  • In User choices, select Consent – on, Manage options – ON, Do not consent – ON & Close (do not consent _ ON
  • After complete that click on Published,
